Ipakitine (animal feed supplement) has an effect on the gastrointestinal tract, especially the phosphate and calcium levels. It binds phosphates to the feed, preventing it from being absorbed by the kidneys, slowing down the kidney degeneration. It also contains chitosan, which makes the toxins (creatin, ureum, phosphate) be absorbed by the intestines, relieving the kidneys. These properties contribute to the maintenance of the kidneys (full recovery is, unfortunately, impossible).
